Campo Del Cielo Meteorite - a Large Specimen

This meteorite was first discovered 1576 in Gran Chaco Gualamba, Chaco, Argentina, but was likely known by local natives prior to this. Its impact on Earth is believed to have occurred approximately 4,000 and 5,000 years ago. Estimates of total recovered material exceed 60 tons, which makes it the heaviest meteorite recovered on Earth.
